This post is a simple list of 5 Ways For Small Businesses To Fight For Their Market Share. If you are having trouble growing or maintaining your sales, I highly recommend implementing everything on this page as soon as you can.
Feel free to send us a message if you have any questions, and I hope the advice in this post is helpful in your marketing journey!
Every Small Business Should Be Doing These 5 Things
1️⃣ LOCAL SEO: If your business is on Long Island, make sure every page has the words “Long Island” in a sentence somewhere, and the county or town you are in – and even if you don’t have a blog section (and don’t want to make one), still take the time to create a few “blog like” pages on your site that cover some of the basic topics in your industry – and say things like “We’ve been serving Long Island’s ______ needs since 2005” – and the like.
2️⃣ GOOGLE MY BUSINESS: Upload high quality photos and videos onto your Google My Business listing (don’t just rely on the ones customers upload), and set up a simple email that goes out to satisfied customers encouraging them to leave a positive Google review.
3️⃣ SOCIAL MEDIA RE-TARGETING ADS: Don’t be afraid to spend money on ads. Everyday there are people viewing your website that you might never interact with in-person, and you can serve these people tailored ads for very little money. For many small businesses, $1 or $2 a day is more than enough to cover the cost of retargeting website visitors on social media.
4️⃣ ENCOURAGE USER GENERATED CONTENT: Offer free products or discounts to people who post photos and videos of your products on social media. This is different from influencer marketing, in that this opportunity is made known to all customers.
5️⃣ HAVING THE RIGHT MARKETING PARTNER: I know – this sounds like a generic bullet point, but unfortunately, having inadequate marketing talent in-house is one of the biggest issues small businesses face. Many wish to pay for professional marketing services, but are unable to afford the bloated costs of large agencies, leaving them to settle for what they got.
But thankfully – there are also smaller marketing agencies (LIKE US) who can deliver impactful marketing services for any budget.
